3 New Year’s Resolutions for Every Car Owner

Happy New Year from the ArborMotion team! We hope you had a great holiday in your household and are feeling healthy and refreshed for a brand new year!

As we all know, the new year is a great time to set New Year’s resolutions or goals to help better yourself throughout the year. What are your New Year’s resolutions? Some of us at ArborMotion have resolutions focused on improving our exercise habits and some of us have resolutions to read more books.

Whatever your New Year’s resolution may be, did you take your car into consideration? While making resolutions to improve your health and overall lifestyle are great, adding a few for your car is a great idea. Make yourself a better car owner and keep your car in the best condition with these three New Year’s resolutions.

1. Don’t Neglect Car Maintenance

The most important car maintenance you’ll need to keep up with this year are oil changes, batteries, brakes, and your car's air filters.

2.  Stay Focused on the Road

Did you know that on average nine people are killed by distracted driving in the US every day?  There are many things that are considered distracted driving that we might all be guilty of: texting, changing the music, using an app, taking a photo, or even eating and drinking while cruising down the road.

3.  Be Courteous to Other Drivers

Driving can be frustrating, especially in these unusual times. Let’s all share the road with understanding, patience and good vibes sent out to those around us. Even if you are not reciprocated in kind, you did your part to keep us all together. Can’t hurt, right??!!

Have a Happy and Safe New Year’s from all of us at ArborMotion!

Gifts for the Car Enthusiast

It’s that time of year again! Snow is flying through the air, Christmas music is on the radio and neighborhoods are lighting up!

But the older we get, the harder it is to figure out the perfect gift for friends and family for Christmas. It is so easy and fun as a kid, the newest video game, stuffed animal, Polly Pockets (where are my 90’s babies?).

If you have a car enthusiast in your life, here are some ideas just for them:

• A subscription to Top Gear Magazine. Everything you need to know all in one place! No matter what your favorite car is, they got you covered. From electric cars to the oldies, this magazine is a win.

• If you have someone who really likes to keep their vehicle clean, get them a set of new floor mats. This makes it much easier to keep the crumbs out and a clean fresh look in. We especially like Weathertech mats, check them out HERE

• For people who love a clean car not only on the inside but also the outside, think about a car care kit. While this choice requires some work, it does allow their vehicle to shine all year, regardless of what the weather has in store.

There are so many options for all the car lovers in your life! Make sure that not only does their holiday shine bright, but so does their vehicle, inside and out.

What You Might Not Know About the History of Lincoln and Cadillac!

ArborMotion lives on the domestic side, too! Not only do we love our Ford and Chevy customers, but we also love our Lincoln and Cadillac customers.

As the luxury division of Ford Motor Company, Lincoln makes upscale luxury vehicles and was founded by Henry M. Leland in 1917. Ford bought the company, named after Abraham Lincoln, in 1922.

The Lincoln brand has always been popular among Prime Ministers, Presidents and even gangsters! John F. Kennedy was driven in a 4-door Lincoln Continental when he was assassinated and you can actually visit that very car at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.

Did you know that Al Capone’s Cadillac was the first bulletproof presidential limo? It was a 1928 Cadillac Sedan that was fully armored to protect against rival gangs. This vehicle was impounded by the Treasury Department when Capone was sent to Alcatraz.

The founder of Cadillac, Henry M. Leland, (yes, the same Henry who founded Lincoln) worked as an apprentice for gun maker Samuel Colt.

Leland also reworked the single-cylinder engine from an Oldsmobile and tripled its output from 3.7 to 10.3 horsepower!

Cadillac and Lincoln have come a long way and have been transformed into powerful car brands in the automotive world; ArborMotion would love to service yours!
